Last Wednesday, nearly 500 travel agents and professionals in the organization of corporate events and congresses throughout Europe, arrived at Grand Luxor Hotel to start one of the most important events in the world: The M&I Forum. From 24 to 27 April, all these professionals of the MICE sector have met in Benidorm to study the opportunities offered by the city and its hotels, such as Grand Luxor Hotel, for the realization of important international events.
The activities that all agents enjoyed highlighted the Wednesday 24 April in the theme park, Terra Mítica. The nearly 500 event professionals from all over Europe spent a day in the entertainment facilities of the leisure complex with exclusive attractions, shows and a banquet in the area of Iberia Village. This area of the Terra Mítica complex has a unique appearance reminiscent of a typical Mediterranean village. Iberia Village has nearly a dozen spaces that have been fitted out as themed gastronomic establishments. Last Wednesday, each of them offered an exquisite range of restaurants to the nearly 500 agents.
In addition to the spaces dedicated to leisure, attendees to the forum, were able to learn, first hand, the different venues used by Gran Luxor Hotel for holding their conferences, presentations or business meetings. On 25, 26 and 27 April, throughout the morning, a large work shop was held in La Pirámide, the Congress Centre of Grand Luxor Hotel and the biggest on Costa Blanca. The objective of this action was to close agreements between all the participants. Between Grand Luxor, Meliá Villaitana and Asia Gardens - these last two hotels also hosted these working meetings - were able to close about 7000 appointments with agents attending the M&I Forum.
For Grand Luxior Hotel, the MICE sector is consolidated but exponentially growing business. Over the past few years, the hotel has held 35 large-format events with 60% from international companies such as Decathlon, Michelin and Olympus. For 2019, projections is to increase the international client reaching 70% and the objective is focused not only on increasing the number of events held, also their volume and projection.
